Snow Days

The kids had a snow day from school yesterday; today was my day off and it snowed all day.  I decided some little winter birds would be the perfect way to celebrate.  I LOVE snow and wish our winters had a lot more of the white stuff.  I had planned to stay in all day and make art, but the beautiful falling snow got me outside so that I could enjoy it.

Last night I got organized (well, one aspect of my life anyway). I made a list of the projects I want to make as soon as possible, and gathered all the tools and supplies I need.  So now that it is getting dark, I have to stop gazing at the snow, and get started on that list, and turn my thoughts to spring.  But guess what?  Its suppose to snow tomorrow too! :)

I LOVE IT - LOVE IT - LOVE IT.
To see how the snow had settled in the crook of the branches as they joined the trunk made me think of how I stop and notice those things when it is snowing outside. These snowflakes are your best so far - keep going, I want to see more. You do winter so well that we will have to ship you off to Antartica in the off season. Can you believe the personality that your birds ended up having because of how they bundled themselves up in people clothes? There is great movement from the foreground to the background, it must be how well you did all the different kinds of vegetation. I like the juxtaposition of the quietness and stillness of the snow compared to all the movement in the sky - just like a snowstorm, once the stormy snow comes in contact with something there is utter stillness and total peace. I think you need to consider producing wrapping paper, Christmas cards, napkins, and paper plates. You should prepare for the next Christmas show. Do you see how much you are improving? I want to be you.
